MORE CARS IN GTA SA!!!!

Months ago i was very angry because i want it to see all the good cars that were made for our fun but the game only has a few models to replace ( since alpha to zr350) and you will found that is not enough for us! so if you check the big gta websites you will see that they have until more than 2300 cars for gta for download but we only can use a few of them!!!

So there is a tutorial for add new cars not replacing! add new cars!!!! yahoooooo!!!! .... (http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=298780)....

but wait a minute!!!
when the gta3.img reach the 2.1 gbs the famous imgtool gives us an oversize error in our gta3.img !!!!!.................oh nooooooo what a crap!!!

But my solution was:
do not put those new cars in the gta3.img so input them into gta_int.img and it work good

this is a long process and is not easy to make you have to be careful with the names and free id's
check the list of free id's and some of them work.

Now i added 120 new cars to my gta sa and the street are a beauty mess! so i can see all cars that i want!

some pics? imposible! are too many!!! ha ha ha!!! the cargrp.dat is now five times bigger than the original, but you can do it!!!

First of all you have to know the dimensions of the template that use the selected car (every car is different), but (it always has to be kind of binary multiplacation
2,4,8,16,32,64,128,256,512,1024,2048,4096 dimensions can be 512x1024 doesnt matter) by dadude.
You must have the followed programs: txdworkshop, paintshop or similar ( programs to handle bmp, jpg, png, ... files )and IMGTool. Those programs you can search on google or similar and download them. For example you have to know if the car that you select is maped for paintjobs beacuase there are some that do not let you do.
Let´s work
First open you gta3.img with IMGTool find the car name for example jester then do this: find jester1.txd and extract to you documents close the IMGTool open the jester1.txd with txdworkshop export to bmp
Fire up your paintshop or similar and open this bmp file, first of all check the dimensions of the file beacuase your new paintjob has to be equal in its dimensions and its direccion
Second when you have your new paintjob fire up your txdworkshop and open the same jester1.txd and import the new paintjob...Then save the file. Open the IMGTool and open up the gta3.img file and find jester1.txd and right click and remplace the selected txd file close your IMGTool and check your paintjob in the gameHave fun and always back up your files before start any edition.

San Andreas: Howto "Adding Cars"

There are two ways to replace cars in San Andreas:

1. Add/Replace cars automatically by using the San Andreas Mod Installer V1.1 (Download)

San Andreas Mod Installer (SAMI) allows you to install mods and custom vehicles made for GTA San Andreas without having to edit the game files yourself. SAMI practically does all of the work for you, which makes mod installing (and uninstalling) as easy as a few clicks.

2. Add/Replace cars manually by using the IMG Tool 2.0 (Download)

This Howto shows how to add or replace original cars with a new car which you have downloaded. To do that we are using the "IMG Tool".

You need:

IMG Tool v2.0

Preparations:

download a favored car from any file database
copy the .dff- and .txd-files to your desktop or another place where you can find them
open the readme file

Now we can start:

start IMG Tool
File -> Open -> C:/Programs/Rockstar Games/GTA San Andreas/models/gta3.img

Find the files of the car, which you want to replace. In our case we want to replace the Uranus:

press F2
enter Uranus

Backup these files. In our case you have to backup uranus.dff and uranus.txd:

Right click on the already marked files
Extract to a directory, you prefer

You have backed up the files and now you are ready to replace them:

mark uranus.dff
Right click -> replace
select new uranus.dff

mark uranus.txd
Right click -> replace
select new uranus.txd

By using this method you avoid a bug, which appears when you are using "delete".

Fine-Tuning:
So the car is in the game but we have to do some more fine-tuning. To do that, we replace some lines of files, which are located in the data folder of your GTA SanAndreas. You can find the new lines in the readme file, which can be found in the downloaded file. Mostly you have to replace a line in handling.cfg, carcols.dat and vehicles.ide. For further informations you have to take a look in the readme file because there is a more detailed introduction of the process. We will make it as an example:

First of all, you go to the installation folder of GTA San Andreas and enter the data folder, which contains the files you search for.
You need to open each necessary file with a text editor and search for the lines, you need to replace.
After you did that, just save the changes and close. Done.
